new glasses

My glasses arrived this afternoon. They are so light I am almost afraid of them. I dig the titanium frames. They look almost like my old pair, but a little smaller and the frames are a bronze color. Had a bit of a headache adjusting to the new type of lenses, but it seems to have gone away.

Spent half an hour on the phone with Brett bantering about books, work and cats, and why he should stay in Austin this weekend instead of going to the East Coast to get stuck in snow. I am thinking Sunday we should have people over for cards and food, and we can have the football on in the background. I wrote a nasty letter to CBS today about their refusal to run the MoveOn ad depite allowing the White House into the Superbowl ad rotation.

...

Titanium frame.

I have to find some like that. Heh! It'd go with the wedding ring. Silly, how I want to accessorize to that, eh? >:D

Makes sense to me though. ;)

The frames were made by Dakota Smith, and had the advantage of being on sale for about half price this quarter as a promotion. (Down to $115 as opposed to the usual $250) My doctor recommended them highly.

Maybe we can take Bush out in 30 seconds... muhahahaha! I really really don't like him and the evil media that won't run this ad.

Now that could be a great event... 30 seconds in the ring with Shrub man. First one to knock him down gets Air Force One!

[identity profile] baseproduct.livejournal.com 2004-01-27 07:12 pm (UTC)(link)
If I got Air Force 1 out of it, I'd kick him in the goolies. :p

Who am I kidding, I'd do that anyway.

[identity profile] tsarina.livejournal.com 2004-01-27 07:27 pm (UTC)(link)
But would you cut them off, a la Fight Club? :P

[identity profile] baseproduct.livejournal.com 2004-01-27 07:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes. It's too late to stop him breeding, though. I'll just have to call the Amazingly Hot Liberal Guy Squad and make sure his daughters hook up with people who think labor laws aren't anti-abortion.

[identity profile] tsarina.livejournal.com 2004-01-27 09:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Bwahaha! That could be a hit on Bravo!

"Amazingly Hot Liberal Guy Squad tackles a young WASP debutante and turns her to to the left, coming up tonight..."

Bravo for writing that letter. :) CBS should be boycotted by everyone for not allowing it. I wish networks would take a stand for free speech rather than standing with the enemy and squashing what needs to be said.

[identity profile] tsarina.livejournal.com 2004-01-27 09:06 pm (UTC)(link)
MoveOn has been posting CBS office numbers, and I understand they've been deluged with calls & letters. I highly encourage you to do the same. :)

Yay for letter writing!

I have entered your number into my phone, just before my low battery beep began. Saturday would be good for me, and I will call you. Did you want to go to Texpresso or out for lunch or some such thing?

sunds good
we can always do it a little later if you want. i like to leave when julia is asleep so the separation is easier, i can just go read somewhere until it is time for us to meet. is 2 better? i just have to be home by five.

1:30 is good for me. I was just being silly, since it always seems weird that normal wakeup time for me is noon these days. Stupid night job! I am out of sync with the universe!

Sure thing. I live at the Chevy Chase apartments, which are right at 183/35. If you come down Lamar to 183, you stay on the access road and go through the light past Red Lobster. There will be lots of bank buildings and stuff on right, and you will turn into the driveway with the big Chevy Chase sign. Behind all the offices you'll see a silly clock tower and the entrance to the apartments.

Gate's broken, so just drive straight in. Go as far back as you can and turn left. We're the last building on the right, #33. Apartment is #104. I'll probably be up and outside, but you can come in and see the giant cat!

Let me know if you need any other directions.
